Shimotsui evening lights at the port where Kitamae-bune ship arrived

  • Shimotsui Evening Lights Festival is being held!

    Shimotsui bushi was once passed down by a boatman who called at Shimotsui on Kitamae-bune ship.
    The dance that accompanies this Shimotsui bushi is called "Authentic Shimotsui bushi."
    It has been handed down in Shimotsui District for about 80 years as a parlor dance to entertain tourists.
    The "Shimotsui Shimotsui Akari" event, which uses this "Authentic Shimotsui Bushi" song, will be held for the first time in October this year.

    At the event, participants will parade around 100 meters of Shimotsui's townscape preservation district, which will be lit up with lanterns and paper lanterns, dancing to the "Authentic Shimotsui" folk song.
